When I draw or shoot videos, I incorporate elements from nature in my mark-making, elements that connect my suburban home and studio environment to the larger universe out there, like sunlight and running water. These elements push and pull against my hand drawing, accidentally creating new forms and lines, together generating narratives that layer the human and nonhuman, the physical with the cognitive/subjective, engaging themes of perception, meaning and memory, with an emphasis on transition.
